DBTL

DBTL is a type of catalyst based on the chemical compound dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL). It is widely used in the production of polyurethane and silicone elastomers.

Properties

  • Appearance: Colorless or light yellow liquid
  • Density: 1.1-1.2 g/cm³
  • Melting Point: -20°C
  • Boiling Point: 240°C
  • Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents

Advantages

  • Rapid Curing: Ensures quick curing of polyurethane and silicone elastomers.
  • High Efficiency: Effective even in small quantities.
  • Broad Compatibility: Can be used with various polyols and isocyanates.

Applications

  • Production of polyurethane foams and elastomers
  • Production of silicone elastomers
  • Adhesives and sealants

DBTO

DBTO is a type of catalyst based on the chemical compound dibutyltin oxide (DBTO). They are widely used in the production of polyurethane and silicone elastomers, although their applications are decreasing due to their toxicity.

Properties

  • Appearance: White powder
  • Density: 1.1-1.2 g/cm³
  • Melting Point: 50-60°C
  • Boiling Point: 210°C
  • Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents

Advantages

  • Rapid Curing: Facilitates fast curing of polyurethane and silicone elastomers (safer alternatives are now available).
  • High Efficiency: Effective even in small quantities.
  • Broad Compatibility: Can be used with various polyols and isocyanates (applies to safer alternatives as well).

Applications

  • Used in the production of polyurethane and silicone elastomers.
  • Can be used as a catalyst in esterification reactions.
  • Used as a heat stabilizer in PVC production.
